Over the last few Summers Sydney has seen a new superpower of parties emerge. Marco Polo at The IVY. From it's inception, you could tell it was going to be a force to be reckoned with. The space resembles something like a Miami Drug Lords Mansion mixed with a Villa from the French Riviera. And with the "high Life" decor came the "high life" clientele. In full flight you would swear you were in the middle of a new Puff Daddy Film Clip.
Aesthetics aside, the main issue for me has always been the painful selection of tunes being played. This isn't exactly a place known for its music credibility which is such a shame given the potential it has.
There has however been a few indications recently that suggests the cheese invested EDM that gets blurted out of those pool speakers on Sunday could one day perhaps be discarded for good proper house music... We can only dream right!?

The hope started when Resident DUST BUSTER and all round legend Robbie Lowe was given a residency this Summer. A very pleasant surprise and a glimmer of hope
Then, A few quality internationals over summer like Adana Twins, Doctor Dru and Maxxi Sound System being booked lead to more optimism. could this really become a place for music lovers??
And now, Our good friend who performed at DUST only a few weeks ago James Petrou is hosting one of the rooms under his Party brand KINKY DISCO this coming Sunday. Joining him in the education of good music is a fine cast comprising of:
